Drum synths your AI agent can play

Every 908 Audio plugin ships with a standalone app that also speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Connect it to Claude Desktop, Claude Code or any MCP client and your agent can choose a model, set the knobs, play notes and save the result as a WAV — with the same sound engine you hear in your DAW, sample for sample.

What your agent can do

Browse the sounds

List every model of the plugin and every control with its range and current value.

Shape the sound

Set any knob or switch — tune, decay, drive, LFO and the rest — and reset to the factory values.

Play patterns

Up to 256 notes per render with velocity, timing and length, for up to 30 seconds.

Render WAV files

Stereo WAV at 24-bit or 32-bit float, saved straight into your Music › 908 Audio › Agent Renders folder.

Listen back

The agent can audition the render on your default audio output before you drag it into a project.

Same engine as the plugin

Rendered offline by the exact engine of the VST3/AU/CLAP plugin, so a WAV from the agent matches the plugin bit for bit.

Works with

Claude Desktop, Claude Code and any other client that supports MCP servers over standard input/output. Nothing extra to download: the MCP mode is built into the standalone app of 908 BD, SClap, LowConga and HHat on macOS and Windows.

How to connect

Claude Code (terminal, macOS) — for SClap, LowConga or HHat swap the name:

claude mcp add 908-bd -- "/Applications/908 BD.app/Contents/MacOS/908 BD" --mcp

Claude Desktop — Settings › Developer › Edit Config, inside "mcpServers":

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "908-bd": {
      "command": "/Applications/908 BD.app/Contents/MacOS/908 BD",
      "args": ["--mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Windows — the app is installed at C:\Program Files\908 Audio\<Name>\<Name>.exe:

claude mcp add 908-bd -- "C:\Program Files\908 Audio\908 BD\908 BD.exe" --mcp

Other MCP clients: run the app with the --mcp argument (add --out-dir "folder" to save WAV files elsewhere).

Safe by design

Your license still applies

The agent uses the plugin's own license. Without an active license or trial there is no sound, the trial plays only the trial models, and an agent can never activate a license.

Only writes new WAV files

Files go to one fixed folder. The agent cannot read, overwrite or delete anything on your computer.

No network port

The MCP mode talks to the agent only through standard input and output — it opens no port and sends nothing online.

FAQ

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI agents such as Claude use tools on your computer. The 908 apps include an MCP server, so an agent can control the plugin's sound engine.

Which AI clients work with it?

Claude Desktop, Claude Code and any other client that supports MCP servers over standard input/output.

Do I need a separate download?

No. The MCP mode is part of the standalone app of 908 BD, SClap, LowConga and HHat: run the app with the --mcp argument.

Does it work on Windows?

Yes. Use the standalone app installed at C:\Program Files\908 Audio\<Name>\<Name>.exe with the --mcp argument.

Where do the WAV files go?

To the Music › 908 Audio › Agent Renders folder, or to the folder you pass with --out-dir. The agent only creates new files there and cannot read, overwrite or delete anything.

Does the agent need a license?

Yes, the plugin's own license applies. Without an active license or trial there is no sound, the trial plays only the trial models, and an agent cannot activate a license.

Is the sound the same as the plugin?

Yes. The agent renders offline with the exact engine of the VST3/AU/CLAP plugin, so the WAV matches the plugin's output bit for bit.
